We did the same route last August. We loved the trip from Spokane thru Lake Coeur D'Alene area then also thru Polson and Flathead Lake region.

We stayed in Kalispell and ate our dinners there. A good place to eat is either Capers or Blue Canyon Grille. When you make your way to the Many Glacier/East Glacier area then stop in St. Mary's for lunch. The Park Cafe and Two Sisters get good reviews. We ate at the Park Cafe.

Enjoy your trip.

Thank you for your suggestions! So looking forward to getting out of this Texas heat for a while and taking in the beautiful Mt scenery.

We will be going to Coeur d Alene from Whitefish for 3 days and are looking forward to staying at the resort as well.

Take care

Just got back from Houston- understand about the Texas heat!! When we arrived in Spokane it was 90 degrees but as we travelled into Montana the weather was in the 70's and 80's.

One of the employees at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake recommended the Tupelo Grill right in downtown Whitefish. We went and it was as good as advertised.

GOLF- whitefish lake has 2-courses, both good. meadow Lake Resort and Eagle Bend also great golfing options. From Coeur d' Alene area, send him to Circling Raven Golf Course.

Best place to eat IMHO ,Whitefish Lake Golf Course (not the grill outside). Zip line at the ski area way fun.

Tupelo is excellent as is McGarry's in Whitefish. Also - another hidden gem - The Rising Sun Bistro - across from McGarrys - open fro all 3 meals.

Flyfishing - talk to Glacier WIlderness Guides in the park and they can get you set up for that or rafting. The only raft companies that use professional guides are them, Great Northern and Wild River - you want to be sure to use a company that doesn't just bring in kids for the summer to take you down the river. So - any of the above are great!

Glacier restaurants - Glacier Grill is good as well as Belton Chalet in West Glacier.

Hikes - so many to choose from - I recommend going to the visitor center in the park and talking to a ranger. You should have a good variety to choose from by the time you get here.
