Logan's Pass Parking Lot - Why Does It Get Packed?

I read that the parking lot at Logan's Pass can get filled up. Why does it fill up? Granted, there may be limited parking, but why does this area get so packed? What is the attraction here? Thanks!

Logan Pass gets filled early most mornings during season for several reasons....

1. It is the high point of the GTTS Road...

2. It has the Visitor's Center located there....

3. It is the trailhead for Hidden Lake and Highline Trails....

4. There is a tremendous opportunity to see big horn sheep and nmountain goats in this area of the Park...

5. There is limited parking....

Well Logan Pass bridges the West Side of Glacier Park with the East Side of Glacier Park.

If you are coming from the west the road snakes along under the Garden Wall once you get to Logan Pass you can see from the meadows behind the visitor center both sides of the Park. (you can't see Many Glacier or Two Medecine as they are in the own valleys.)

It is also the starting point for two of the more popular trails in Glacier Park

The Highline Trail links to several other trails when you get closer to Granite park Chalet.

If that weren't enough it also is a gathering ground for mountain goats and Big Horn Rams

marmots and various other wildlife including bears and wolverines.

The bears and wolverines are not often seen except at Hidden Lake during spawning season. (bears)

It also allows people from more southerly states to experience winter in June and July ~ despite the day time temps of high 70's no gong on their is still a lot of snow at Logan Pass.

So far this year I haven't seen the parking lot fill up. . . That will change

I get the feeling that many people delayed there trip to GNP until after last years opening date.
