Early March weather @ GC

Planning a trip out to the Grand Canyon in early March (3/4-8). How's the weather at that time of the year?

Looking so forward to the trip. We've already book a suit at the Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon. Yay!

That's still the cold weather time for the area. You'll probably encounter some snow.

During the day it'll be pretty nice, probably 50's-60's. Cold at night though, most likely below freezing.

Agreed - it will be cold and breezy along the canyon - take some gloves and a cap and a jacket.

There could be sunshine, wind, clouds, rain, sleet or flurries, and sunshine. All in the one day!

Hi

Mid to late March you're looking at temperatures of about 55f high to 25f low. You'll probably still encounter snow, wind, rain, sunshine etc all in one day. The Grand Canyon's like that. Dress in layers and be prepared for anything!

Enjoy the Grand Canyon.

Just to ad my 2 cents in. I just wanted to say that the past couple of years we have had our worse snow storms in March. Last year we got all of our winters snow in 2 1/2 weeks in march and that's a lot of snow. But it could also be 50+ degs too so who knows. Just be prepaired. Theres always a 50% chance that there is snow or at least will be snow on the ground in March. Last year the snow bowl (our ski area)was only able to open up for 2 weeks in March for the whole season because of the huge amnt of snowfall we recieved. Just thought I'd ad that in. But either way you should still have a great time .

The weather will be what it will be and that could be anything! Just pack with layers of clothes and you'll be fine.
