best time of day to see critters on float trip

Planning a float trip this weekend, but not sure which trip to take. It looks to be cold--30s in am, 50s in pm. The day will be spent floating/hiking or hiking/floating. What time of day offers the best opportunity to see critters on the float trip? Looks like they go out every 2 hours starting at 8am and also offer evening trip.

Early morning or late afternoon is when we have seen wildlife on our float trips on Snake River in GTNP.

Sunrise now is a little before 6:00am, so just starting a trip at 8:00am (the earliest trip) may be a little late for wildlife viewing.

Sunset now is at 9:00pm. So if you can get a trip between roughly sunset and dusk (that is, during twilight), that imo sounds like a better way to see wildlife.
