need help planning 3 day backpack itinerary

Need some help from the experts! We have reservations at leconte lodge and we want to work in 3 day backpack itinerary preferably ending at leconte lodge. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

if you take a look at the map you'll see that you don't have a whole lot of options and you'd probably have to arrange a shuttle to make it work.

you could hike up Porters Creek and stay at CS31 on the first day, but then you'd have at least 11 miles to cover on day two and 9 miles to get back to Greenbrier the next day.

you could start from Newfound Gap and hike out to Icewater Shelter on the first day and take the Boulevard over to Leconte for your second night. but you'd have to either backtrack to get back to your car or arrange a shuttle (or hitchhike back to your car). and your first day would be really short unless you add on some day hiking after you get to camp.

or you could just do an overnighter somewhere, and then drive over to a Leconte Trailhead after you hike out the next day.

Thats what I was afraid you would say! I have been staring at the trail maps for awhile and thinking the same thing but wanted some confirmation since I have never been in the area before. Thanks so much! Do you have any suggestions of good campground?
