November??

Would a 3 day trip mid November be possible? We want to fly into ANC, drive to Seward, do what we can in the National Park and/or anything else worthy of such a trip. Weather.com is showing the forecast to be pretty reasonable for the next 10 days. Is anything open?

Hotels will be available, and restaurants, but not much else. The scenery is always there.

The Alaska Sealife Center is open. You can visit The Wildlife Conservation Center and also Portage Glacier though the Visitor Center is not open. As of last week the road to Exit Glacier was still open and I don't think they have had any snow since then.

I was out at Exit 48 hours ago. Harding Icefield Trail is still doable (snow towards the top). You can get to the Toe of the Glacier with a little struggle and drink some Glacier water. Very quiet. Saw 3 ppl all day. NICE! You might also look at renting a Forest Service cabin at Thumbs Cove for a night. Caines Head Trail is a good day hike, (low tide only ). As mentioned above Sea Life Center. Do a "Butt Bowl" at Thorns Showcase Lounge!! Get the large. If you cannot eat it all ..... Call me! lol

You could also drive down to Homer, but at this time of the year the main attractions will be closed. The spit is deserted. Maybe you can bring the snow as we haven't got any yet (except the mountain peaks).

Most of the activities associated with Girdwood/Portage area (see: http://goo.gl/lSnN2 ) are still (as of this morning) possible. I'd guess if it's a vendor activity, it's likely closed.
