My wife and I, in our sixties but reasonably fit, are travelling independently from Australia.
After travelling from Bellingham on the Alaska Marine Highway with stops along the way we arrive in Whittier on 10th July.
We are thinking of taking the train from Whittier to Spencer Whistlestop and return and then up to Girdwood arriving same day in the evening. Possibly stay 2 nights in Girdwood then train to Seward for 2 nights then have 3 nights left when I would like to do some fly-fishing for trout. We both enjoy kayaking and hiking so would like suggestions of somewhere to stay where my wife has options as she does not fish. Happy to spend on a nice lodge if necessary.
Not sure how we then get to Homer.
Any suggestions on this itinerary and things not to miss would be most welcome.
