I'm wondering how the name "Hannegan Peak", and "Hannegan Pass" were decided on? I've done a fair amount of research, and have only the name of an Indiana Senator from the 1840's as a possibility. (Edward Hannegan) Anyone have an idea, or a hint of where I might search further?

Thanks, Paul Hannegan

Different Hannegan:

I found this site searching for "Washington Place Names" on Google.

Thank you so much! Now you're making me dig deeper yet, but that's a good thing.

Greetings Paul,

always reading these travel forums. Noted a question to Seattle times travel section re: inside passage to Alaska. Besides being interested in Place names I also have over 1000 trips on the inside passage as a professional ship pilot so I can offer tips and pointers and recommendations.

My wife and I particularly enjoy the N.Cascades park.

Happy travels!

Wil
