2 days in ONP in July

We are headed to Glacier NP at the end of July. We will be taking the train from Seattle. We are all set with our reservations in Glacier. Just realized yesterday that we might have a couple of days in Seattle before we head out to GNP. We would love to spend that time in ONP. We will probably head out to ONP from our friends' home in Redmond. Some questions for you ONP experts-

- how long of a drive is it from Redmond to ONP?

- from some browsing on these forums it looks like we should target Hurricane Ridge, Rialto Beach and Hoh rainforest in ONP. Is that correct? Any specific hike recommendations? We have girls 11 and 13 yrs old and like to hike about 5-6 miles a day. Thanks!

Please look at www.kaleberg.com. Never mind the pictures from Patagonia, look under the Olympic National Park section. You will find all sorts of information about trails, along with tide tables and info about wineries, the Farmers' Market, etc...

I hope you do come to ONP. Late July is gorgeous here, and the wildflowers will be at their peak on Hurricane Ridge. Stay at the Olympic Lodge in Port Angeles. It will take around 3 hours to get to PA from Redmond.

If time in Redmond is available, and if you've not been, you might drive through Snoqualmie Valley, just down Novelty Hill Road; Snoqualmie Falls; the Snoqualmie Railroad Museum, Woodinville Wineries...

Obviously, not to take time from ONP.

Snoqualmie Falls East of Seattle less than one hour. Bring a jacket, it can be misty and cool. http://www.snoqualmiefalls.com/

Wine Country, Woodinville After the River Valley (Rte. 203) and then on to Woodinville for “Wine Country”. http://www.woodinvillewinecountry.com/

Enjoy Glacier, fabulous park as is ONP.
