Questions on itinerary for ONP, Mt. Rainier and SJ island

9 day Itinerary covering ONP, Mt. Rainier and SJ island. Traveling with myself, husband and 16 year old son. Love the outdoors of hiking, scenery and photography

Inquiring if this is a reasonable trip from Seattle

Day 1, Wed: Visit the Seattle sites (Space needle, Pike Place Market)

Day 2, Thurs: travel EARLY via ferry to Bainbridge visiting

Lake Crescent, Marymere Falls, Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc Falls and lodging in Port

Day 3, Fri: Travel to Hoh Rainforest, Rialto beach (of course check for afternoon low tide)

lodging at Huckleberry Lodge.

Day 4 Sat: Travel to Lake Quinault and lodge at Quinault River Inn

Day 5 Sun: Drive to Mt. Rainier (day 6 and find lodging and visit Mt. Rainier

Day 6 Mon: Visit Mt. Rainier at Paradise location then drive up to or near Anarcotes

Day 7 Tues: Ferry to San Juan Island and visit Lime Kiln Point State Park and hopefully see

whales. undecided to stay overnight or return to Anarcotes

We always catch a very early ferry to Friday Harbor on SJI. Lots to see there. Plan on at least 1.5 hours, Seattle to Anacortes Ferry Terminal. Try to be there an hour ahead of your ferry departure.

San Juan Islands This article provides specific information re: what to see and to do on the major islands, with key websites, including ferry schedules. The islands are best seen by basing on one and visiting the others as day trips. Recommend at least two nights. tripadvisor.com/Travel-g58727-c102104/San-Ju…

I'd give more time to Seattle; here are just a few of the unique "Must Sees", IMO.

Given your short time of visiting....i would look at flipping some things

Wed: Seattle for the day...night drive up to anacortes for Ferry in the AM

Thu: ferry to San juans,

Fri Ferry back, travel down whidby Island and take ferry to Port towsned then to Port angeles

Sat-Mon Olympic national park

Tues Mt Rainier ---at this time a lot is snow covered so there isnt much hiking options now.

Wed/Thu Seattle

another option is to just return to Seattle on monday night then do Mt rainier on a day trip when the weather appears better.
