With the help of many of you, we have our lodging squared away (that was done months ago). I am now trying to firm up the actual itiniarary. We are a family of 4 (2) adults in our 50's, great shape and hikers with 2 teenage daughters (moderate trails).
July 21. We fly into Eugene, Oregon. Get rental car and drive to Ashland, Oregon.Would like to explore Crater Lake.
July 23. Leave Ashland and drive down to Crescent City to see Redwoods; drive to Yachatas
July 25. Depart Yachatas and head over to Columbia River Gorge. Spend night in Hood River
July 26. Drive over to Mt. Ranier. Spend night in Packwood
July 27. Explore Mt. St. Helen's. Spend night in a Packwood
July 28. Leave packwood and arrive at Lake Quinault (explore HOH rainforest/ hike 5 mile Island/explore Ruby beach/ explore Quinault rainforest)
July 30. Leave Lake Quinault and head over to La Push ( explore Rialto and 2nd Beach)
August 1. Leave La Push and go to Sol Duc. Spend night
August 2-5 Check in at The place in Port Angeles. Hike Hurricane Ridge/Crescent lake
August 4. Dinner at crescent lake lodge
August 5. Leave Port Angeles. We have ferry reservation to take us to Orcas Island
August 5-9. Orcas Island.
August 9. Leave Orcas Island and travel to Seattle.
August 10. Fly out of Seattle and return home
Any thoughts, ideas are appreciated. We are staying in a mix of hotels and houses. Ideas for food, hikes, activities, etc are appreciated. Am interested in transportation from Orcas to Seattle. Also was wondering if a trip to Victoria is reasonable while we are in Port Angeles ( I know we would need our passports). Thank you all in advance.
