Beaver Creek

We are leaving for Beaver creek Saturday for a week with our family. Does anyone know the status of fires around Beaver Creek? Are there any? Diane

Beaver Creek is nowhere near Rocky Mountain National Park. There are no fires there or near Beaver Creek - at this time.

They did cancel their fireworks, however. Just found out today, so I'm scrambling trying to find another 4th destination.

Vail and Avon are still having celebrations for the 4th, just no fireworks. I can't imagine a town would risk setting off fireworks, but you may find one.

I think Dillon/Frisco might still be having one, though they could cancel too.

Personally, I would like all locations in CO to ban fireworks this year. Plenty of safe and festive celebrations available!! Here is the latest article from Denver Post: denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_20957139/comm…

Dillon seems to be cancelled (based on above article). The Governor's fire ban also states that no state funding would be available for any fires resulting from a municipality's 4th of July fireworks. Seems like a huge risk.

Pagosa's announcement comes Monday. I think they have been waiting to see if we get huge rains. Hasn't happened.
