Due to ongoing rain, Hwy 34, 36 and 7 currently closed

Well, I've always wanted to live on an island. With the ongoing rain in the area, Estes Park is experiencing road closures and flash flood watches. Schools are closed for the day. Highways 34, 36 and 7 are currently closed in and out of Estes Park. Not certain what will be happening but rains are forecast to continue through Thursday into Friday. CDOT has information on their site regarding road closures.

rky - was listening to KOA on my bluetooth phone driving to work this morning. Damage sounds devastating. One year ago tonight my son and I left for a long weekend in Denver that included spending all day Saturday in RMNP. One of my favorite days.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you out that way. Such a beautiful place with great people. Stay safe.

Oops, posted a reply in the wrong thread! Thanks for this info. We were planning to drive to Estes Park and back from Kremmling today. But sounds like a bad day to do this trip.

yikes! we are planning to be out there in two weeks :( I thought fires would be more of an issue! Thoughts to everyone dealing with this right now!

And selfishly hoping things are back open and running in a couple weeks.

www.cotrip.org will give you current road conditons.

All of those red circles on the road conditons map are road closures.

About info on cotrip.org... I think they are having some problems updating info. We've been checking 119/Boulder Canyon all morning. It hasn't shown that it has been closed, yet we've been getting reports from friends/neigbors and Twitter that it is closed. Best bet - stay off the roads!

Glad to see you checked in Babalax - I was wondering about you!

Yes, no one should be trying to get up to Estes or anywhere up there.
