Zion & Bryce trip assistance

What would you recommend as a loose schedule if one has 7-9 days and you want to see Zion and Bryce the end of May 2011? What else would you include and what would be the best sequence to do it? We have been to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon so are not interested in including them in this trip. Also, what airports would be best to arrive and depart from? Thanks so much.

With that sort of time frame you could do three days at Zion, two days at Bryce, then maybe head down to Page(Lake Powell) for a few days. There is a lot to do in Page, like Antelope Canyon,Horseshoe Bend, tour Glen Canyon Dam,take the smooth water raft trip from the dam to Lees Ferry.

See Zion for three days, head to Bryce for two days, then head up the very scenic Hwy 12 to Torrey and Capitol Reef Nat'l Park. There is a lot to see along Hwy 12 like Calf Creek Falls,Hole in the Rock road, Burr Trail.

Best airport for getting there is Vegas,or if you can get a better price, Salt Lake City.

I agree with all of the previous suggestions and if you do choose to spend the extra time at Lake Powell I would highly recommend the boat tour to Rainbow Bridge. It's the best way to truly appreciate the spectacular beauty of that lake.

You can't go wrong wtih any of it.

You could also consider Grand Junction, Colorado, or Albuquerque NM. Or arrive at one and depart the other. Or arrive Las Vegas and depart either GJ or Albuquerque. Either of these options would allow you the possibility of working in a sampling of Arches Natl Park, Canyonlands and possibly Mesa Verde Natl Park.
