Rental cars one day at a time

We are going to be at the Viceroy the last week of May and first week of June. We want to rent a car here and there, one day at a time. Looking for suggestions or past experiences with the local companiesN how the insurance works etc. Thanks in advance.

You will need a temporary license $20 bucks, most car places will let you do daily, but it will be around 40-65 depending on Rental company and insurance. You can always get a one day rental from Monsell right at blowing point, he only charges 30 dollars a day and he is a really nice guy. You can ask anyone at Blowing Point for him he is always there

Where do you get the license.? 50 bucks seems fair. My credit card covers the insurance. Can you get them from the hotel or delivered to the hotel. Ill get one for the week if it works out to be the same price. What kind of cars are avail for rent?

The rental agent gives you the license when you rent the vehicle. It's good for 3 months and you need to have your home driver's license to get one. we used Bryans car rental, Ronnie bryan is a very accomidating man, a real pleasure to deal with. Go to bryanscarrental.com and check it out.

Stay away from "Nuttin but Jeeps". We were overcharged and accused of damaging the vehicle.

We always use Ronnie Bryan. We paid $37.50 per day on a weekly basis ($520 for 2 wks.). The car was a Toyota Carolla, 4dr. w/air cond. and auto trans. It's best to pay for the license in cash since the rental people have to buy the license from the government and resell it to you. If you put it on a credit card they lose the credit card company's fee which usually is 3%.

Throughout our visits to Anguilla we've rented from a total of three (3) companies and all offered better rates by the week rather than the day. Best to inquire, it's possible they may offer better daily rates during low-season which started last month.

We found it nice to have a vehicle at our disposal at all times. You never know when it may be cloudy and you want to go exploring the island instead of sitting around the hotel, or you need to run to the store for something. Low season rates are, well, low. Bryans car rental posted rate is $300.00 for a jeep (well actually a small suv) for the week. In the grand scheme of things on Anguilla, I think that'a bargain.

Many if not all rental companies will charge 6 days for a week's rental, making a weekly rental cheaper. I think Ronny Bryan includes the insurance in the weekly rates.

Yes, Ronnie includes the insurance when you rent by the week, and his rate is less expensive to rent by the week as opposed to daily rental. For me, daily rental would be a hassle as we would be waiting around all day for the car to arrive, then waiting again for them to pick it up.

Love Ronnie Bryan and all he stands for, he is a great Anguillan amabassador.
