Is there a movie theatre on Anguilla? :)
Is there a movie theatre on Anguilla? :)
No sadly lol you can rent DVDs in the Valley and I believe The Viceroy do a movie night on a Friday night in the sunset bar.
Too bad.... We would only see a movie if it was raining or storming. I was going to post another question in regards to "Things to do on Anguilla" Yes. I already looked at the "Things to do" section. I did not see anything on wave-runners or parasailing. I think I saw parasailing with the Frangipani Resort but does anyone else offer it?
You don't see parasailing much. Maybe saw it one time in the 24 yrs of going there. There are no jet skis in Anguilla. They are not allowed.
Viceroy has standup paddle boards, there is also a motorboat with a big tube that goes from beach to beach looking for riders. I don't know the cost.
Viceroy has many activities for their guests.
When it rains, we drive around, explore, go out for lunch, I have never seen it rain for a whole day, all day long. We go November and April.
Frangipani does not have parasailing or at least not when we've stayed there. They do have water skiing and tubing for those who stay there. They also have stand up paddle boards.
Does St. Maartin offer parasailing and jet skies? What about zip lining and hiking on St. Maartin?
All of the above are available in St. Maarten -- the 2 islands are night and day; one is tranquility and one has cruise ships, casinos, jet skis, zip lining and more.
I would never waste a couple of hours on vacation in Anguilla going to the movies, storming or not. Lately, I wouldn't even waste a couple of hours going to the movies at home and I don't even have to spend several thousands of dollars to do that .
djb....looked at your posts re: Provo.....Anguilla is totally different....from Provo.....the beaches are far superior, and many more of them.....there are beach bars on most of them....most of us travel to a different beach or have a favorite beach....they all have their own personalities....there are not hotels lined up like Grace Bay....
The snorkeling is not the best & in no way would i ever compare it to Turks & Caicos.....actually it is the terrible compared to Provo....
Then there is St. Maarten.....the beaches do not compare to Grace Bay or any of the Anguilla beaches....lots & lots of people, having said that there are lots of activities do do.....Zip lining, hiking, jet skis....casinos...hiking i would only do with a group....there is also a zoo...some on this forum would say SXM is a zoo....but it is also fun....
Most evenings in Anguilla there is live music playing at one place or another....young people are more than welcome at any of the establishments in Anguilla.....just seems a more relaxed atmosphere....
Have you thought of looking into Grand Cayman for a holiday....
Yes… I have heard so many good things about Anguilla, we thought we would see for ourselves. Can't wait. we leave in June. I did read that the snorkeling is not the best, but will still do a snorkel charter and see whats out there. :) From google maps, I see that there are not Resorts lining up and down the beaches like Grace Bay. Although I love love love Grace Bay and Turks and Caicos. :) We usually go to Provo in the month of June We just love it… Have no desire to vacation on St Maartin as like you said, it is like a zoo. We love secluded islands. We will go over for a day trip to do some hiking , zip lining, and jet skis . You say hiking you would do with a group only. Why? Because it's not safe or is it very easy to get lost.?We hiked the Napali Coast for 4 hours, leaving at 7:30 am returning to our Resort at 7:30 in the evening. Looking forward to quiet evenings having dinner and listening to some music with the family. We are not big drinkers. So far our favorite Island is Provo.. Been to the out islands, Great Exuma, Grand Caymen., off a Cruise, and all islands in Hawaii several times, We kept going back to turks and caicos. I actually like the fact that Anguilla does not allow parasailing and jet skies, cleaner water…Can you give me names and websites for excursions on St Maartin?
Thank you for the info!
Hubby and I are big movie goers, however, we do not make a point to see movies on vacation… Only if it is raining, It's better than sitting in the room. As I said, we are not big drinkers so we wouldn't sit in a bar. We also have kids. We also like to mingle with the locals. We do this on Provo as well.
