Tried to contact The Verandah but to no avail. Does the hotel sell day passes and if so how much?

I just heard back - a day pass is $US95 (1/2 price for children aged 12 and under). From10.30am - 6pm and including all food available during these hours and all served drinks.

That's a pretty stiff price for a Day Pass ......... Isn't it?

I'd say it was pretty much in line with others tbh Terry - and a lot cheaper than say, Sandals or Nonsuch. Only Jolly, Pineapple or Hawksbill are less, but not by that much now.
