A couple of ? on Blue Waters

Looking forward to our fifth trip to Antigua and first stay at Blue Waters in Feb.

Just wondered if anyone had any up to date info on the following ?

Dress code for Dinner, have noticed over past few years having Holidayed in the Carib for at least the last 20 years (oh No I am getting old ! ) that despite many hotels claims they are taking a more modern relaxed view. Hopefully dress shorts are acceptable ?

Smoking, one day I will give up honest !, hope Antigua has not taken the Barbados view, is smoking allowed on your room terrace and in the bar areas ?

Snack menu, included or not on the AI plan ?

NO in common with practically every hotel in Antigua BW requires men to wear full length trousers [ NOT jeans], collared shirt and closed toe shoes at dinner.

You can probably get away with it on your terrace but I am pretty sure that the bar areas are now free of contamination.

Not sure what you mean by the "Snack Menu" but generally speaking AI at Blue Waters means ALL inclusive.

Just returned from a very enjoyable week at Blue Waters, an update on the dress code. In the Autumn the hotel took the opportunity to not only refurbish and modernize the main restaurant, but the dress code as well. You may now wear smart shorts, t-shirts and jeans if you prefer. However I would emphasize the word smart. In both the Cove and Bartley’s t-shirts are now allowed, however shorts and jeans remain out of bounds. From speaking to a member of staff I think that they were as much relieved at the policy change as the guests. No more nightly arguments with guests over an outdated policy and pretense too far for this age.

I have to applaud BW for a great decision on this one. I hope others will follow their lead!
