Does anyone know if you have to pay for bottled water at the coconut beach club in Antigua or is it part of the all inclusive package
Most AI's do not include bottled water. However, you can usually refill bottles at the bar.
Hi, thank you for your quick response. As this is our first visit to Antigua we are a litle unsure about the water situation. When you say the bar staff will fill up the bottle is this tap water or bottled water. If tap water then how safe is it?
Usually in any all-inclusive package, water is included. In antigua, as a general rule person dont usually drink tap water unlrss they have a filtration system. You should be fine. Enjoy your visit!
Just got back from there. You can buy a bottle from reception for 2US. The bar staff will then refill it for you from the filtered tap. They do advise you not to drink the water in the room, however we used it for the coffee machine and also cleaning teeth and we were both fine.
Thank you for your reply about the bottled water, athough we are seasoned travellers we like to make sure that the holiday isn't spoiled by drinking or eating the wrong things. We were in Egypt last year in a high quality hotel and we both suffered badly even though we were very careful.
What did you think to the food at the Coconut Beach Club, was it warm enough for breakfast and lunch and what kind of things did they have on the menus for the evening meals. We are really looking forward to having menus to choose from, albeit limited, for dinner rather than a buffet every night.
Did you hire a car and if so did you get it through the Virgin rep or did you do it direct with the car hire company.
We saw your comment about the queing at the airport, it is just a part of travelling and something you just have to put up with.
We have booked a junior suite, do you know if they have any on the top floor as we prefer top floor rooms.
This will be our first time to Antigua and our first stay time in a small hotel abroad, getting really excited even at our age, not going unltil November but can't wait. All reports on the hotel are very encouraging.
Look forward to hearing from you
Ray and Jenny
I can comment on the queues at VC Bird, as we were affected badly this year. We had a late afternoon flight to Gatwick on a Saturday which was delayed due to extremely slow check in. Saturday is their busiest day as locals are travelling to other islands also. We have been told all other days are fine. Or taking an evening flight on a Saturday will be quicker. We have booked Coconut Beach Club for next year. Had two weeks at Grand Pineapple Beach this year and stayed at the Hawksbill six years ago. Both different to each other but great.
Enjoy your holiday
