Considering Cocos for NYE - a few questions

Very interested in Cocos for 7 nights. Is it close enough to walk into a town or other hotels just to break away from the resort for a change of scene if need be? Can we walk easily to other properties, bars or into town? Also, we would be there on New Year's Eve...any special places to celebrate? I know Cocos is a quiet resort which is ultimately what we want for the long haul, but I'd be interested in nearby options in case we get restless after 5+ days. Thanks in advance!

Cocos is located at one end of Jolly Beach. You can walk all the way up Jolly Beach passing Jolly Beach Hotel passing Castaways Restaurant and beyond. You can also cut through on foot to reach Jolly Harbour with an array of restaurants and some shopping. Across the main road is Sugar Ridge Hotel with two restaurants. You could book there for NYE. Try Carmicaels restaurant.

Further down the main road [ maybe a taxi for the short distance] you will pass the following beaches.

Valley Road Beach.

Little Ffryes.

Ffryes

Darkwood

Turners.

Further down

Calaloo Beach by Curtain Bluff Hotel.

Carlisle Bay.

St. John's is the capital but not walking distance. A twenty minute cab ride.

Hope that helps.

Regards

Mark

Just round the corner situated in Cocobay Hotel is another excellent restaurant called Sheer Rocks. We were ther last New Year and it was incredible, very chic and great food I'm sure you would have a great time.
