Hi

What is the best currency to use for taxis, tips and Frenchie at Coconut Beach Club ?

Not sure what Frenchie is, but taxis take either US or EC (prices are often quoted in US). Tips can be in pretty much anything ;)

Most visitors find US easy to deal with, but you're likely to get change in EC and the exchange rate will never be in your favour!

We only take EC .If you take US dollars you get change in EC.

The best thing is to have a little bit of both on you. It is easier to use the price you see in EC will be what they get ,because persons tend to use different rates when going between EC (XCD you would see this on most currency conversion sites )and US. Some use 2.5 xcd or 2.60 xcd or 2.65xcd

So you might see something that cost 11 ec which is just $ 4 .04 but they tell you to pay 5 US .

Taxis tend to quote in US prices so the tourist do the math and compare if its worth it .
