Aruba for singles?

I am considering going with a friend of mine to Aruba this October. She has a deal to check out the Marriott Ocean Club and is looking for a travel companion. We are two single girls in our early thirties so we want to make sure there is stuff to do at night. Although..we aren't 21 anymore if you know what I mean. I'm just curious if people would recommend this as a destination for us.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

You should be fine if you stay away from San Nicolas and closing time drinks at Carlos and Charlies! On any island you should travel in groups or with a partner and do not accept drinks from someone you just met!

Just use common sense! You should be fine!

Aruba is wonderful, I would go with a friend. You can relax by the beaches all day, do a few excursions if you like, Great resteraunts, and there are casino's and bars to hang out at night. I did noticed that there were mostly of couples the last time there, however if you are not looking to pick anyone up and just have a good relaxing time, I think you will have a blast.....

tattoo the party boat

the black hog saloon

the party busses

I think your safest option for landbased nightlife is the party busses you are with a group of people being shuttled from one bar to the next its better then going into the clubs by yourself

Shamrock, where have you been? LOL I haven't seen you post in a minute. Hope all is well...

I would not stick only to party buses. You're not alone you have your friend with you. I would hope because you're not 21 you are even smarter :) Don't be leary to go to bars and lounges Carlos and Charlies especially. I have traveled to Cancun several times with the girls and other trips with just one other girl and we had a blast.

Thank you for all your respsonses. I've travelled several other places with girlfriends in the past so I'm not concerned about the safety of it but more that there are plenty of things to do. I've just heard mixed things from people and wanted to get a better idea of what to expect. You've been very helpful!
