Phase One opened Dec. 2008.

Morgan's Island is located just south of LaCabana (near the old Royal Cabana Casino):

Aruba has changed ALOT since I started going there in 1996....not always for the better (my opinion) but if people want it, they'll build it. The almighty dollar at work...... :(

I agree 100% with Aruba Amy we started going in 1994 and at that time it was a Caribbean Island now it is getting to be more like Florida. A tropical paradise does not have Hooters, Tony Romas, etc etc. nor water parks. JMHO

I agree with both Amy and JM that development has gone too far on the island. I do have one remark however: Morgans Island is NO way like Paradise Island! It's a lot smaller and nowhere near as luxurious and 'slick' (by lack of a better word). For those who know De Palm Island: it's more comparable to that waterpark, but with more slides (and higher, one in particular looks positively scary from a distance 8-}!) and a couple of snack and souvenir places.

Despite going "to far", its still my favorite place to visit. Went for the 1st time in June 96, we did not return until 2001 and it had blown up during the 5 yr period. I am actaully considering staying on Eagle Beach to get a different feel when we go back in 2010 (stay at the Radisson next month)

1st time we visited was in 1983 & didn't return until 1999. Talk about change! We have pretty much been going back every year since, so I guess we still like it, but all the building does scare me a bit.
