hotel in january

We have been going to Aruba in December for quite a few years and the prices for hotels were not too bad but now I am pricing for January and they are much higher. Will they go down as we get closer or are they normally over $400 a night? Any suggestions on how to get a better price?

If you travel before Christmas in Dec., that is still considered the low season.

In Jan., $400 a night for that time of year sounds about right. Not sure which hotel you are looking at this price range.

You may want to try Priceline. I know some posters that post here regularly have gotten good rates with them.

Prices may come down because of the economy. Last season there were lots of deals because no one was traveling, it may happen again, but who knows. Prices do go up right at Christmas.
