Well just got back from our best Aruba trip yet (9/10 thru 9/24). Flight was on time and we actually got in a little early. Had taxi waiting (Bully’s) and was off to the Divi AI. My mom and dad joined us for the first week at Divi and we had a great time. The rooms (ocean front) could really use remodeling, but, there beach is one of the best. I found the people at the resort as friendly as ever and the food was very good. Had one day of rain for about 3 hours and it was very, very hot! But that is how we love it. We ate at the Asian restaurant for the first time and it was very good. We also went to the restaurant where you grill your food in the middle of the table and boy was that a mistake only because it was very hot and you really could not enjoy your meal. Ate at Red Parrot 3 times and never had a problem with reservations for dinner. The shows were fine gave you something to do at night. The drinks were plentiful and they have just about everything you could want. We had a very nice housekeeper (we left her 5 dollars a day) and she had our room cleaned before 10 every morning. Just can’t get enough of the Divi. DH played golf twice at the Links and had a good game while I just soaked up the sun and read. We met so many wonderful people and hope to see them back next year. Did not make it to the BB Party because my parents were with us and my mom is handicapped and the first week we did not have a car. We only went to the Casino once that week; my parents are not big gamblers, so we waited for the following week to make our deposits, lol. The last day at the Divi our car arrived (Tropic 175.00 for the week) and we drove my parents to the airport for their flight home. Moving day for us arrived at the Bucuti about 1:30 and our room was ready. Thanks Tony we loved the rooms. Now I know why you stay in the regular rooms they really are very nice! Had room 234 and it was perfect. One thing I did notice about the Bucuti is the employees there just do not seem happy. Not that anyone was fresh or rude they just did not go out of their way to be friendly like prior years. Also, a little gossip, Mrs. Bucuti is no longer there she is living in Florida and they have been separated for a while. Now back to the trip, lol. After check in we went to Ling and Sons to stock up on cheese, crackers, wine and beer. We were at breakfast by 7:30 every morning and on the beach by 8 every day. Never had a problem getting a spot and the hotel looked full. Went snorkeling at Boca Catalina about 3 times, they put up some new huts and fixed the beach a little bit so it is not that bad now. This was the first time I snorkeled and I was hooked, lol. We had dinner on the beach at Passions and danced in the sand. Also, ate at Madams Jennets’, Matthews (had the best steak there) Gianni’s and the French Steakhouse also Elliot’s (very good meal) and Pizza Bobs. Had lunch at Salt and Peppers, Matthews and went next store to the beach bar at Manchebo’s. Also, had left over’s and cheese and crackers on the balcony. Missed the BB this week we took a nap and overslepped, well there is always next year. Sorry I missed it was really looking forward to meeting everyone. Met so many nice people on this trip and it seems like they also are repeat guests so looking forward to seeing everyone next Sept. All and all it was a great trip and this year we stayed 2 weeks instead of 10 days and plan on doing the same next year. Was looking for Clovergirl and Nancy (at the airport) while we were there, but did not seem to hook up, sorry I did not get a chance to meet hopefully they had a wonderful trip too. Already thinking about our next trip! If anyone has any questions be glad to help!!!!
