Divi VS Tam

Trying to decide whether the Divi is worth 350.00 pp more than the Tam for a one week stay. Any opinions to offer?

Generally, with kids and teens, folks prefer the Tam. For adults, the Divi is usually worth the difference. Quieter and with a slower pace, the Divi is better suited for adults. I have seen weeks where a ton of kids changed the whole feel of the Divi, however.

If money is and issue, and $700 per couple will pay for excursions (if any), some shopping, car rental for a day or 2, dinner off property...and so on. $700 is a lot. If you want, go to the Tam and stay in either 1100, 1200, or 1300 block, all closer to the Divi, so the walk will be shorter.

The Divi Phoenix is further down the beach at the beginning of Palm Beach. I'm sure that this is the Divi Divi property on Eagle Beach-right next to the Tam. Because the Tam offers the under 18 stay free option, they do tend to attrach more children. When we stayed at the Divi Divi, we met a couple that were staying at the Tam who tended to eat their meals at our resort. That's the beauty of it, you can stay at one and eat at all, or swim, or relax-whatever you want.

I'm with DiviAruba-it might be worth it to spend your extra money on something else since you can use both places.

at the end of the day, i look at the divi and the tam as one big resort, with two different sides and two different clusters of rooms.

I think people are partial to whereever they have stayed first... We tend to like the divi more, but thats where we stayed on our first visit.

Everyone is right - one of the main differences is the kids at the tam vs divi. With that being said, the tam isnt exactly womper room.

in my opinion, the beach is a bit nicer at the divi. I also like the location of the divi a bit more (closer to the casino, the other resorts, etc). But those are pretty minor differences. Some of the rooms at the Tam can be a bit out of the way... But that may work for you.

It's just a place to sleep, you can lay out on any section of beach. they have shuttle carts to bring you around the resorts, if the walk is too much for you in between resorts.

In addition, most of the restaurants are at the Tam, so you will spend a fair amount over there anyways.

I will preface by saying that we have only stayed at the Tamarijn four times and never the Divi.

Imo,Divi positives:

Better beach

Better buffet restauarant

Nicer larger rooms

Larger swimming pool

More "upscale" rooms

Less children

Tamarijn positives:

ALL rooms are directly on the beach

More restaurants on property

Plenty of children (a POSITIVE if you are a parent of an only child)

If money were no object I would book an oceanfront room at the Divi, however it would be much more money than the Tamarijn. Otherwise, there really is nothing like staying at the Tamarijn and rolling out of bed and onto the beach ;) As DiviAruba said, there are plenty of other things to do with the $700 savings.

If you mean use the AI at the Divi and Tam while staying at the Phoenix, the answer is no. The Phoenix does not have an AI option although the Divi Village and Divi Dutch Village do.
