New Years Eve in Aruba

Just booked a last minute trip to Aruba for NYE. Short trip (only 5 nights) but looking forward to the NYE fireworks in Aruba (and the warm weather, too!) :)

It's going to be a fun (short) trip! Staying in a villa for the very first time, too, so I'm looking foward to a new experience!

Will you be going to the lighthouse to watch them drop the ball at midnight on NYE? Is it true that Ryan Seacrest is so peeved at Dick Clark that he is going to do the countdown from the Seaport Casino this year instead of Times Square? Or that because of the US election results, the MSNBC reporters were banished to coverage from the water park? Geez, so many questions and so little time!

LOL! Sorry, I didn't mean to "torture".

We had not even planned this trip and decided we'd try for NYE next year but....opportunities presented themselves over the last week and the "extras" just all kind of fell into place over the last couple of days. It wasn't until yesterday morning when the airfare dropped that I knew it was "meant to be" and I should just book it! Not alot of time on the island for this trip but I've always wanted to experience NYE in Aruba at least once.

Amy,

NYE week is a gong show. A lot of fun, but the bussiest time of the year by far. You line up for everything, everywhere. It takes a little getting used to. If you are renting a car, book it now. There is nothing but nothing available if you wait until you arrive. Been there, done that.

Enjoy the non-stop fireworks!

I booked my car last week right after I confirmed the flights. I was a little worried myself but I had no problem getting a car from my usual place (Payless.) We're only staying 5 nights - 4 nights in a villa and one night at Amsterdam Manor.

Should be an interesting experience. :)
