My guess is that they're probably adding more palapas.

Thanks for your reply.....

I wonder if they are making more palapas available or replacing some they have lost to the sea. Was looking at the beach a few weeks ago and the sea very very rough and reaching and going passed the first line of palapas.

We are in the Tara Suites now. They are adding 5 or 6 new palapas, much needed.

Hello Coops! Leaving Vegas? LOL.

A lot of people from the UK have been "discovering" Aruba. You will love it there. Guaranteed. The casinos and hotels won't remind you of Sin City, but the island is just a fantastic place to visit.

Hi TonyNorthcapeMay

Not leaving vegas yet ......lol.... in fact we are going in 48 days and counting......We would love to visit Aruba...but the price keeps going up and alot of Brits have just received huge tax demands as the Inland Rev have calculated our tax incorrectly...so not much spare cash left!!

Where would you recommend to stay in Aruba...we love a great beach, not too crowded and good food. Also what time of year is the best to visit?

Hope you enjoy your time in Vegas later on in the year

Hi again Coops. Best time to visit Aruba if you want to save money would be May - mid December. This is the low season. Of course, it is great to get away from the cold in Winter, but very costly to do so. From your comments, I would suggest Bucuti Beach Hotel Superior room . Manchebo Beach Hotel, next to Bucuti, is also a good choice. Another very nice hotel is Amsterdam Manor.

My problem with AM is that there is a street between the hotel and the beach.

Many people do not consider this to be a factor.

Aruba has so many excellent restaurants. Some are expensive but not nearly as expensive as some of the higher end establishments in. Vegas Hotel prices are definitely higher in Aruba and the hotels do not compare to those in Vegas. For me, Vegas is a lot of fun and sort of an escape from the real world.

So, what advantages does Aruba offer over Vegas/ Obviously, beach and sea. Much better weather. More relaxing vibe. Easy to get around. I have yet to rent a car in Vegas. It's insane there. More comfortable outdoor dining options. Friendlier people. No porn slappers. lol. Hope that you get to visit..

Hi TonyNorthCapeMay

Like the look of Amsterdam Beach Hotel and Bucuti Hotel, last year there was an offer of £693, US$1080 per person for a week self catering at Amsterdam beach, including flights for June, this year its £900 US 1350, but find availability very poor...can hardly find one week availability.... Amsterdam Beach was my favourite choice.

The Bucuti looks great, some reports on TA worry me...

The room we can book from theUK website is a superior double garden room at US$1800 per person bed and breakfast including flights from UK. Half board is US$40 extra per person per night.

Do you think these sound good prices and would you bother with half board.

These prices are for beginning of sept this year.

Looks as though the work on the beach has stopped....according to the pics I can see on the webcam!

We love vegas for the very same reason as you...to escape from the real world. Also my husband does well on quick hits so we have to go back.... would not miss the porn slappers.....lol

Thanks for your help
