Car necessary?

We are going to Aruba for our one year anniversary in June and staying at the Hyatt. Should we consider renting a car for the week? I'm having some difficulty determining how far away some of the attractions and restaurants are from our hotel. Thank you in advance for your help.

Many visitors rent a car to get around to restaurants not on the bus route, to see certain beaches and take the desert tour, for grocery shopping and so much more.

We have evolved over the years and no longer rent a car. The bus takes us to all the restaurants we care to dine at, to hotels, casinos and to town.

You'll no doubt want to rent a car, at least for a few days to see the island.

Riding the bus with vistors and locals is a part of any vacation experience - only US$2.30 round trip per person.

It will cover all of the hotels and into town, lines L10, L10A & L10B...

You are in a great location to walk to many, many great restaurants. Taxis have a preset fare, no meter. They are not that expensive and the bus is also very cheap. If you go into town a couple of times and perhaps take a taxi one or twice out to dinner, you will not be paying any more for the taxis then if you had a car, even when you add in the cost to/from the airport.

If you want to explore the island then you do want a car but the island is small. Renting a car for one day should be sufficient. If you plan it properly you can rent the car in the morning, see the sites, use the care for dinner at a more distant restaurant and then return the car the next morning.
