Best hotel....

Husband and I are planning a trip to Aruba late June. We need suggestions on where to stay. We are trying to chose between AI or non AI. We also want a place that is relaxing, but fun ( live shows, music, fun people). We are in our earlier 30's.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Best hotel is subjective. Please read over to the right under "Top Questions About Aruba" You will see discussion on AI vs. non AI (AI is usually not the popular choice in Aruba, not many resorts offer it), and High Rise vs. Low Rise area. I would think you would be better off staying in the high rise area of Palm Beach. The resorts in Aruba do not focus on nighty entertainment, so more than likely you would have to go outside of the resort to find it. Also, without knowing your budget, it's hard to suggest a hotel.

The more you read up on and educate yourself with, the more you'll know going into the trip which will help with getting the most out of your vacation. Happy planning!

I will say that though there is more to do around the high rise section, the evening entertainment up that way, on resort, is lacking. We are within your age demographic, and stay yearly at the divi. Great stretch of beach... Casino next store, as well as a few other resorts and restaurants. Evening entertainment is decent between the divi and it's sister resort, the tamarijn (you can use both resorts). It's not going to blow your socks off, but it's entertaining nonetheless!

keep in mind aruba isnt a crazy happening place (for the most part) at night! Not a party scene. now with that in mind, there are ALWAYS places to go to have fun! Drinks are always being poured :)

Get a travel book about Aruba. Best to read about Aruba in addition to this forum. We all have our opinions. Martiott and Hyatt seem quite nice. Have stayed at both. My friends liked the Radission. Others like the Surf Club. Hyatt has beautiful grounds. Happy planning.

Marriott Stellaris, Hyatt or Radisson. If you don;t have kids stay away from Marriott Surfclub. The first 3 are best for your fist visit. AI in Aruba is not necessary. Lots of good eats and drinks all around those 3 resorts.

I did a ton of reading, too, but the hospitality industry being what it is, print material cannot possibly keep up with all the changes.

Books are great for searching out attractions and maps, but the absolute dickens for up-to-date restaurant and hotel information.

Now I search the daylights out of internet and throw questions out to people I know.

I would recommend non AI and staying at the Radisson. My husband and I are in our early 30's and will be returning there in a few weeks for our 5th visit! Great location, beautiful grounds, relaxing and not over-crowded beach area, and walking distance to many delicious restaurants.

I would say NO AI !!!!!

We are not in our 30's but our children are and I know that Palm Beach is probably the beach to be on for you.

Radisson is nice - have stayed there Hyatt has only french balconies and Marriott may have quite a bit of children.

No great night life on Aruba except casinos and a few spots downtown.

FYI, Correction to the above post: Hyatt does not have only French balconies - they do have full balconies when you book a Jr. Suite room.
