Questions on Bucuti and Aruba for a newbie

we are newbie to Aruba but have traveled to several AIs in the Caribbean including several Sandals. We love the beach and water sports and do try to see some of the island during our stay.

- Are there any special Travel Agent's that deal with Bucuti or just go direct to the hotel?

- Is the dine around program worth it or is there enough restaurants to go to in the area?

- Any suggestions on dive operators?

- We are looking at visiting in October...is Saturday crazy at the airport. If so, are there better travel days to look at?

Thanks.

In my opinion, the dine-around plan is not worth it. The Bucuti has a handful of restaurants that are walkable plus restuarants located in the Palm Beach area or downtown are only 10 minutes away via rental car, taxi, or bus.

Saturday is the busiest day at the Aruba airport. I don't mind arriving on a Saturday but we always try to avoid departing on a Saturday. But having said that, this past trip last month we did end up leaving on a Saturday due to hubby's work schedule and although busy, was not that bad. Since you're planning on an Oct. trip it won't be as bad as high season when there are more flights. However, if departing in the afternoon on a weekend, you do need to give yourself 3 hours since you'll be going through U.S. Customs at the Aruba airport. If departing mid-week, then 2 to 2 1/2 hours is enough time.
