Taxi recommendation

Please provide recommendations for a dependable taxi driver for airport pickup/return and trips to/from restaurants for dinner each evening for a week. We'll be at Bucuti, and we don't plan to rent a car. Thanks.

There will be plenty of taxis lined up outside the airport. Also, will not be a wait for one outside Bucuti or any hotel. There is just no way to expect a driver to be available at all times and places. Don't worry.

Agree; any of them are fine. You don't need a specific driver. They will be lined up outside of Bucuti, and any restaurant will call a cab for you.

We always use Bully, his e-mail is: bullytaxi79@hotmail.com

You could schedule all your dinner pick ups before you leave with him.

He will respond with the name Amador Lacle.

Is the taxi fare a set price and set by per person or per ride?

Taxi fares are all set prices (set by the gov't) and the fare is per ride, not per person.

No need for a particular cab driver. No need for advance arrangements. Prices are per ride. Restaurants will call a cab for you.

We had tried to get Bully when we went to Aruba in November. Unfortunately he was booked. I did some research on TA and found the name of another driver, Hubert Kingsdale. Turned out he's Bully's brother-in-law, and what a nice guy. If anyone would like to contact him his email address is huberttaxi83@hotmail.com. As a side note, we did run into Bully when we arrived (waiting for his client) what a sweetheart. Because of traffic around the airport, Hubert was a little late getting there, so Bully made sure we were set waiting for him.

Bully and Hubert are honest and charge the correct prices, we have gotten overcharged by others.

Taxis can only take up to 5 people.

When we arrived on 11/30 we got the first taxi in line. An airport person "flagged" him down for us and gave us a slip of paper with the fare printed on it (after he asked which hotel we were going to). It is an island ordinance for taxi fare's, so I guess he wanted to make us feel confident that we would not be overcharged. The driver did ask for the paper when he dropped us off at the hotel.

We have used Bully on several occasions in the past; he is very dependable - but also very busy. We saw him when we arrived and he thought we were his fare. When he asked when we were going to be going back to Aruba he said that he was already booked thru next Oct.

We have never had any problems with any taxi that we have taken, whether from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to a restaurant, etc.
