Where do workers, taxi drivers, waiters eat in Oranjestad?

We want to explore food finds away from tourists where local people eat in this city. We are waiters from Honolulu wanting to eat good food reflective of Aruba's distinctive comfort food.

Thanx for your input

I have seen many locals dine at Driftwood - even dined there one evening during a locals wedding reception - local seafood dishes -also Kowloon has a local following - both in Oranjestad.

Dritfwood offers daily catch of the day specials for $29.95 - three course dinner - ask to see special menu.

Due to very long work days, I would say most eat at home. On special occasions, locals go to the same restaurants as the tourists go to. However, many locals eat the food truck on Eagle Beach, although not Oranjestad. Keshi Yena is a local dish served In Aruba. My favorite restaurant for this is Tulip on Eagle Beach.

There are locals in every restaurant on the Island. Just depends on what they feel like or what they can afford. Taxi drivers and servers are some of the best paid jobs.

On our visit in August, we saw ONLY locals at Zeerover's and a ratio of 10:1 (locals to tourists) at Red Fish.

The Arubanworkers are very friendly- ask them where they like to go out to dinner. They have recommended Red Fish and Zeerovers to us. If you take a cab to your hotel ask the cab driver- they ave given us a wealth of info over the years.

Most of them eat at “Sabor Latino”, “Silla’s Bar and Restaurant”, “Golden Wok”, “Casa Ampi” and a little restaurant in front of “Mango” ;)

There are lots of late night food trucks around the Island. One at the main circle between the airport and Oranjestad that is open in the very wee hours of the night/morning.
