Staying at the Tam in April and am looking for suggestions on Dive Operations. Read some less than stellar feedback from some.

We'll be there in April too. I've heard good things about Unique Dive. That's who I'll be looking for when I get there.

If you scroll down through the posts, you'll see one listed as diving. Some good links there.

Hey skyprop,

What week will you be at the Tam? We are going the 15th thru the 22nd.

We'll be arriving on 4/18. Good chance we will be poolside shortly after 4pm.

do you have to be certified prior to going to aruba or do they offer the 1/2 day certification course for tourists?

Most ops will offer the resort course. However, a better option would be to take the full course prior to the trip and then to the open water dives via referral in Aruba. I did that a few years ago (used Pelican) and it was a great experience.

thanks for the info. 1/2 of our family is certified but the "resort" course will allow the others some limited diving if they want to join in the fun.

Ah, that makse sense. From what I've seen Unique Sports, Native Divers and Dive Aruba seem to get the best reviews... but I've not used any of them. I have used Pelican 3 times and they are ok.... but for your reasons, I would try one of the other three first. Just check their websites to see what courses they offer (to make sure they offer the resort course).

I would personally avoid Red Sail...
