here is the link to the map of the cigar store. it is a real short walk from the RIU. perpendicular across the street at the windmill area. maybe 200 yds away.
nice selection of cuban cigars too.
also re: Bubba mugs.
since you are all inclusive, i am sure that you will be allowed to pour your beer from the cup that the bartender gives you, into your Bubba. however, it might take 3 cups of beer to fill so i would doubt that they'd give you 3 cups at a time. who knows though. i am sure with the right tip, anything is possible :)
Thanks for the replies so far---most helpful!!
Andrea- I take it, Bubba kegs are not too popular in Aruba? We only use them to keep our drinks cold, not for volume....although we are Canadians!! LOL
Liz- is the cigar shop close to Salt & Pepper a walk or cab ride?
The best and largest cigar store is downtown in the mall. it is about 10-15 min cab ride from the RIU. They have a happy hour on Fridays from 5-7pm. Usually a deal on 5 or 6 different brands.
If you are going shopping downtown I would check out the cigar store that 1Rookie mentioned. You can take the bus downtown (15 min. ride). The bus stops right outside the RIU ($2.60 one way). Taxi fare would be $11 + tip. The Cigar Emporium a very large store and will have a bigger selection. It is located at Royal Plaza Mall right across from the bus terminal. Hours are 9-6. Closed Sunday.Edited: 31 August 2017, 04:52
My understanding is that The Cigar Emporium is the ONLY one associated with La casa Del Habano, which is the authorized dealer of authentic Cuban cigars. Not saying the others mentioned don't also, but my understanding is that only this one sells guarenteed authentic ones, if that is what interests you.Edited: 20 September 2017, 14:58
La casa Del Habano is the one to go to, it is in the Royal Mall. i personally doubt the authenticity of the smaller shops. i have purchased from both.
Be prepared to PAY for the cubans... If you're not aware, as I wasnt, expect $10+ each for whatever-goes cubans and up to 30-50+ EACH for higher cubans.
$140 got me a 10 pack of mini cubans and 2-3 other full size.... Definitely not what I expected and since I'm not a knowledged cigar smoker they tasted the same to me as a $3 cigar.
What 1Rookie and BullDogzRus said above. That's the place for REAL cubans.
