It's not necessarily good or bad to do AI. The Holiday Inn doesn't have the best food, but it's not the worst AI food either.

Aruba is considered to have some of the best food culture in the Caribbean...but it can get pricey. Going AI will save you some money, but for foodies, it's not a good choice if they've got the money to spend on food on the island.

oops, meant to post here but posted under AI vs. non AI. I'm staying at Hyatt where it is near Holiday Inn. You will find many shops and restaurants within walking distance; from donut/ice cream/pizza to very nice dinner places. You have many options. It is tourist city so many are over priced of course. You can catch a bus for $1.30 that will take you to downtown. Just did para sailing. Asked a few vendors and they charge $60 for 12/20 minutes sailing. Went to De Palm Sports activity center - located between Hyatt and Occidental, they charged $55 for 20 min. sailing. It was fun. Beach is nice, you will enjoy as we do.

How's the all inclusive package at the Holiday Inn? Especially the premium liquor selection? is there any?

Not sure about premium brands, all the local/well brands are included and food so as long as I have the beach and a cold beverage I'll be go to go.

Just returned from the HI and did the AI package...what a disappointment compared to '06 when we were there, an opinion that was shared by other repeat guests that we spoke with.

Premium brand drinks are charged a $2.50 surcharge plus a BBO tax per drink for guests on the AI plan.
