Divi Phoenix Aruba

I am looking for recent information regarding the Divi Phoenix in Aruba. We have heard that the beach has eroded away and that the huts are very difficult to get. Being a fair-skinned Irishman, I would need to know if the huts are plentiful and available every day.

Finally, has anyone stayed in the 2 bedroom Penthouse there? Would you give me the pros and cons to this resort please?

Thank you!

We own there and just vacationed in February. The part of the beach that had erosion is in the non-swimming coral section. Didn't affect our use of the beach in any way. As far as getting a palapa, we had no problem during the busiest season, but we are also early risers. There is also good shade at the pool until the mid-afternoon point.

We have not stayed in one of the penthouse units, ours is a sixth floor one bedroom. We love it! It's spacious and still new with a great view of the resort and ocean. In fact we like the Phoenix so much, we bought a second week!

Thank you so much! You certainly took the uneasiness out of making our reservation. We have stayed at the Marriott Stellaris, Marriott Surf Club, Westin on Palm Beach and then the Divi Divi on Eagle Beach. We prefer the high-rise area of Aruba and just needed to check out the Divi Phoenix Resort.

While I have you, is the new restaurant open at the Divi Phoenix which has all of the white decor? It looks beautiful on-line.

Also, regarding the palapas, can you rent them by the week or is it a daily event?

I noticed you're from Boston, as are we! Again, thank you!

We were at Pure Beach last year, had lunch once during our stay. It was good - small portions and a bit pricey. They had entertainment a few nights until about 11 - karaoke and a band another night.

You are going to get all different responses on favorite restaurants. I have to say my new favorite is Wacky Wahoo's, and then I don't have a 2nd favorite so to speak. We've never really had a bad meal anywhere, and we like to try different places all the time. Madame Janette's is a popular favorite; Passions on the beach was wonderful....so many to list! If you search this forum you'll find some threads with many suggestions.

Didn't stay at the Phoenix but was on the grounds on two different days (looking to buy a timeshare there). My understanding is that they have live music Sat & Sunday and karaoke a few times during the week.

If the palapas are all reserved by the time you get to the beach, there's room between the palapas covered by palm trees that you'll be able to pull your lounger into shaded areas on the beach.

Enoy!
