Black Pearl Snorkeling?

Has anyone been on the Black Pearl snorkeling cruise that you get on by the Marriot ?

I heard great things about it.

It's a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon. The boat is small, so there's a more intimate vibe on the trip. Albert and Joann are very congenial hosts.

We went last summer and the snorkeling didn't knock my flippers off, but we enjoyed it and we would certainly book with them again.

We just got back from Aruba and did the Black Pearl Sunset Sail and snorkeling. We loved it! Albert and Joanne are great. We chose it because it was small (about 20 people) and they have padded lounges to relax on. My husband snorkeled but I opted to relax. He said the snorkeling was good but not as good as Baby Beach. They served rum drinks, gouda and tomato sandwiches and grilled gouda sandwiches. Nice ride back to the island as the sun set. Albert takes a short video of your trip and posts it on YouTube.

Go to YouTube and watch some of the videos. We highly recommend The Black Pearl!

We had planned to take the sunset cruise, we were looking forward to it for months, reserved on line. Just returned from Aruba, 4/20/12 and had some pretty lousy weather. So unsettled, our snorkeling tour was cancelled(4/16/12) due to poor visibility underwater and the water was rough. Unheard of for Aruba. Very disappointing trip this year. Starting to search out different Caribbean Islands. Aruba has been too rainy recently.

We have taken most of the snorkeling excursions in Aruba and BP is by far our favorite for the reasons stated above.

PS, If you compare Aruba's rainfall throughout the year you will find it is still one of the driest in the Caribbean. I have been there 3 times in the last 13 months at different times of the year and never had rain on any of those trips! It's funny to hear someone say they are looking elsewhere because Aruba is to wet!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately one can never count on the weather anywere.( ask a bride)LOL

I myself was in Jamacia once and it rained 5days in a row, and we had a bad experience, so we won't go back there either. Others love it there.

Luck of the draw, hopefully ours will be a possitive one in Aruba again.

A 2 week stay should give us a bit of sunshine and maybe luck in the casino.

This is our usual time in the carribean so I know how "fickel" the winds can be.

Cann't wait to be on Aruba again!

We just got back from Aruba and this time we did the Black Pearl for the first time. Albert and Joann, and the rest of the crew are fantastic hosts. I think my wife and I enjoyed this sunset sail more than any other we done in the last 7 years. Don't be fooled by looks, the boat is all wood, not fiberglass like most others but it sails just the same, and it has all the amenities the others do. The big difference is the Gouda cheese sndwiches and the SPECIAL punch, first it's the punch, then some snorkeling, then some watermelon and gouda cheese and tomato sandwiches, more punch, more snorkeling, grilled gouda cheese sandwiches, then a sunset back to the pier. all that in 3 hours - 4 to 7. loved it. Thanks again Albert and Joann

We will also be booking the BP again this Sept. If you book online you get a discount. Joanne and Albert are very good hosts and make you feel very much at home.
