Radisson vs. Marriott

Help us decide between the Radisson and the Marriott for our trip planned this August. We like the beach at the Radisson but can upgrade to the Tradewinds Club level at the Marriott for the same cost as a OV room in the Aruba tower at the Radisson. Anyone been to both, please respond with any advantages of one over the other. We are seniors and love Aruba.

Thanks!

The only advantage I see with the Radisson is that it is more centrally located on Palm Beach so you would have an easier walk to the shops and restaurants.

Having stayed in both Resort and being in our 60's I agree, that the Rad has a better location for a quick acces to shoping and resturants in the immedate area. However, we perfer the Stellaris... For the same money I would chose the Tradewinds.

I think you will like the Marriott better. Radisson location may be a little more central. You are ok with the Martiott. If you do not haberdasher a car, there are taxis. You can walk across the street or down the beautiful beach.

Either hotel would be ok.

If the Tradewinds Club has a section of beach dedicated to TC guests, for the price you speak of, I would probably go with the Marriott.

Did you price the Radisson with Player's Choice Tours? http://www.aruba4u.com They are running some terrific summer specials for the Radisson.

IMHO the Tradewinds Club at the Marriott is not really worthwhile. While we love the Marriott the Radisson is also great and a little more centrally located. If it was me I would chose the least expensive room in either of the hotels.

Since my IPad has a mind of its own. I do know how to spell. If you do not have a car, there are taxis at the Marriott.

I have stayed at both the Stellaris and the Radisson (both a regular room and the concierge level). The location and beach of the Radisson have the advantage but the rooms at the Stellaris and Tradewinds level in my opinion beat out that advantage. We stayed at the Stellars in April. The rooms are larger and the bed is so comfortable. The food offerings at the Tradewinds Club were plentiful and delicious. We felt pampered. The new Adult pool at the Stellaris is lovely. (Room Key access only to prevent non guests from using the pool).

We couldn't decide either. In Ot/Nov of this year we stayed at the Radisson (Aruba Tower deluxe oceanview room). We thought we'd give the Marriot a try this time. We declined on the tradewinds because except for breakfast, we'd probably not take advantage of all it has to offer. This time we are renting a car though. I have a feeling you can't go wrong with either one. The palapa situation at the Radisson seems better, if that makes a difference

If you do go with the marriot, check out the AAA rates..

We got a good AAA rate for the week of the 15th at the Marriott. Can't wait!
