service fee

What is meant by a service fee in the restaurants? Is that the tip that is added to the check...I've seen it posted but don't know what it is?? Also can you direct me where I might find happy hours and specials?? We are probably going to stay in Oceania Resort and would like to go out to some bars and restaurants but understand it can get pricey?? Any help appreciated:)

The service fee is 15% that may or may NOT be added to your restaurant check and is ostensibly divided among all the employees who provide you with your meal. You are sometimes encouraged to leave an additional 5% for your server. If no service charge is added to your bill, tip accordingly.

I found this summer that most happy hours run in the late afternoon for one or two hours, usually commencing at four and ending by seven. There are also some late-night options but my evenings found me with my lights out. Popular spots on Palm Beach include Moomba, the Pelican Pier and Bugaloe on the end of DePalm Pier.

Walk over to La Cabana pool bar. They have the best happy hour from 4-6 pm and 10-11 pm. Most afternoons there is a live band.

Except for All-Inclusive resorts, yes you can go to any resort to their bars and restaurants. I don't know if you will be renting a vehicle, but La Cabana is a short walk from Oceania. We enjoyed La Ramblas Restaurant at La Cabana. The restaurant is outdoors across from the beach next to the kid's playground and the Islander Grill. If you go through the La Cabana's Lobby and cross the parking lot there is Tropicana Resort. Pizza Bob's is located there in the outdoor courtyard. They are open 11 am-11 pm. By Tropicana Resort is Tropicana Casino where Buster's Restaurant is located - open 7 am-2 am.. They have a fun bar with music some nights and an affordable menu. .

You can ask the ladies tat the service desk inside La Cabana's Lobby for a schedule of what's going on. If you like Karaoke, La Cabana has it one night a week by the pool and other nights in La Cabana Casino. Also the casino has music.

Going the other way from Oceania, Matthew's Beachside Restaurant located beachside at Casa del Mar Resort. Happy Hours are noon-1 pm, 4-6 pm and 9-10 pm.

Water's Edge Restaurant beachside at Costa Linda Resort is nice. You can either order from the dinner menu or lunch/snack menu. I'm not sue . .

yes many people for some reason dont tip so there are restaurants that include a service charge check the bottom of your bill or simply ask about it before paying I learned that the hard way many years ago was giving a total of 30% between the 15% they automatically add to your bill and the 15 % I gave on top of that
