Holiday Inn/Hyatt... Can't Decide...

We're booked at the Divi for 10 days in July but due to airfare being cheaper on a week day, we decided to leave a day early! I could book another night at the Divi but I thought it might be interesting to stay elsewhere. I'm debating between the Hyatt (pros=water slide, Starbucks, outdoor restaurant/bar we like, parrots/swans) or the Holiday Inn, All Inclusive (thought the pool was neat, beach bar was fun, Mooba's is convenient). We've stayed at both before... liked both. The All- Inclusive for 2 adults and 2 little kids is the same price as one night at the Hyatt. Just curious to see what people think would be the best choice, with the LEAST amount of hassle. Since it's just 1 night, would all-inclusive even be worth it? Kids will be 5 and 2.

Your fretting over a 1 night stay? The Hyatt versus the HI is like comparing an apple to an orange....if cost is the number one criteria than pick the HI...the amentities should not be a big concern as it is simply 1 night...why don't you treat yourself and spouse to a special evening and stay at the Hyatt...beds are much better!!

You and hubby at the Hyatt...the kids do AI at the Holiday! ;)

We also do a one nighter before our regular 2 weeks at Playa Linda (this year at Divi Golf) and sometimes a day later cause airfares are so much cheaper on off day flight to East Snowshoe, Ohio, so the extra nights are mostly free. That being said, I would probably do the HI without the AI because after an all day trip, all I want is a Balashi and maybe something like Salt & Pepper. Why pay the extra, eh?

Have fun!

Holiday Inn all inclusive is not worth it at all. We tried it a few years ago. The food is very plain and they only have house brand fruity drinks or Balashi draft beer as options. Everything about the Hyatt is better. They have exotic birds on the grounds that could interest the kids. Our budget dictates Holiday Inn but we always visit Hyatt Casino and enjoy the property. Only downside are the step out balconies instead of a full balcony.

Flying out of Logan, you won't get there till the afternoon and by the time you check-in and get settled, I'm not sure you'd get much for your AI at Holiday Inn. Hyatt is very nice so you might want to stay there, but the dinner that night will up the cost. Either place, your kids will have fun and you'll start your vacation a day early.

Enjoy!

Everyone has a different opinion. I would not go to any other hotel for just one night. Too much of a hassle (for me). So, Divi all the way.

You would only go to the other hotel for a half day and check out at 11 and wait to check in at the Divi at 4 . If possible i'd try to get the extra night at the Divi . You are right about mid week travel usually flights are cheaper and leaving is faster and less bothersome during the week , we always try to travel during the week .

Divi if a room is open...otherwise I would pick the Hyatt- I am not a big fan of the HI.

I am a big fan of the HI. If you can t get the Divi, go to the HI. I wouldn' t pay the Hyatt rates for such a short stay.
