Aruba Beach Club

What is the status on Aruba Beach Club? I don't see any current reviews. Is there good snorkeling off the beach at this resort and is it in a central location?.

ABC is right on the beach in the low rise section. We didn't stay there, but stayed right next door at the Casa Del Mar. It's nothing fancy but I would be happy to stay there. You have access to some good beach restaurants (Ricardo's and Matthew's) a few steps away and there is a casino and a mall across the street. We loved the area.

The beach that ABC and Casa Del Mar sits on is where Druif Beach curves around and meets up with Eagle Beach....I have heard it refeered to as Manchebo.......There is not much to see as far as snorkeling goes, as it is white soft sand upon entry into the water. There is some vegetation patches maybe 50-100 yards off shore that may provide some scenery, but there are no reefs or coral in that area. The best snorkel spots on the island are off shore, with the exceltion of Arashi, Malmok, Mangel Halto. There are no hotels on those beaches.

As far as location, the ABC is about the same distance to Downtown Orjansted as it is to the High Rise hotel section and Palm Beach. It is very centrally located in that sense. There is an outdoor mall directly across the street with some shops and eateries. There is much more activity in walking distance up by the high rise area if that is what you are looking for.

Also keep in mind the ABC is an older timeshare resort, and although very well maintained will not live up to expectations if you are expecting the W.

I agree with JohhnyTram.

There is no better beach then where ABC is. It is older, without a lot of the amenities of some other hotels, but I don;t need all of that. I'm heading there at the end of August.

Re: the ABC - snorkeling off the beach - not so much you have to go somewhere with coral formations for that. Very nice beach and it is just steps away. Not upscale, but good customer service when I was there. An older place, in fact it was the first timeshare in Aruba, but units have been upgraded. I liked it a lot.

I just stayed there. It has a huge beach! We really enjoyed the food at Richardo's. The bed was comfortable. It is a well-kept clean property. The beach at least when we were there had larger waves than they did going farther up the beach toward the high-rise which had no waves.
