Hamilton restaurants for lunch

Any suggestions for a lunch that will not break the bank in Hamilton, and yet be interesting and not fast-foody?

Well....unless you've a taste for Kentucy Fried Chicken, there are no "..fast-foody.." restaurants on Bermuda. Not sure what you consider "..break the bank..".

HOG PENNY PUB is always fun--

LEMON TREE CAFÉ for basic sandwiches & salads outdoors in a corner of Par-La-Ville Park--

BOLERO BRASSERIE is good--

http://www.bolerobrasserie.com/

PICKLED ONION is basic--

HARBOURFRONT at the B.U.E.I. has pretty good Hamilton Harbour views--

Or stop at the Deli/Prepared Foods section at MILES MARKET and pick up the fixin's for a great picnic lunch...in Par-La-Ville Park...at Victoria Park...atop Fort Hamilton--

My wife and I vote for the Hog Penny Pub. Authentic atmosphere, large portions of good food (we love the salads), and friendly service, make this place our #1 lunch stop in Hamilton. They never make you feel like a tourist here.

There's a great place called Madhatters that serves delicious food and have a great lunchtime special with 2 courses for $21, trust me it's well worth it. It's a little bit quirky in there and serving staff are a bit as the restaurant name suggests, mad!!! Here's the website: http://www.madhatters.free.bm/

For a basic, inexpensive lunch--sandwiches, wraps, soup, salad, etc--there is a great little place called BISTRO 12, tucked back in the Walker Arcade (upstairs btwn: Front & Reid Sts)....which also serves breakfast all day (sometimes ya' just get a craving for waffles at lunch).

Having lunch in La Tratoria at Washington Lane, in the mall off Reid Street, is my suggestion. The pizza is Napolitan style with thin crust and the paninis are made with a fresh foccaccia bread. The wait staff are efficient and the food is prepared quickly. It's a large restaurant with interesting wine decanters. Try it, you'll probably like it. They also run two of the restaurants at the airport, the Boulevard Cafe and in the departure area, so if you don't have a chance to try them in Hamilton, you have a good option at the airport.

>>>La Tratoria....They also run two of the restaurants at the airport, the Boulevard Cafe<<<

Not sure that airport food concessionaire is much of an additional '..recommendation..'...but La TRATTORIA is one of the LITTLE VENICE GROUP---which includes LITTLE VENICE, La TRATTORIA, L'ORIENTAL, HARBOURFRONT at B.U.E.I, FOURWAYS INN, LIDO, & SEABREEZE TERRACE & MICKEY'S BEACH BISTRO and DEEP Lounge space (now evidently private rental only) at the Elbow Beach Hotel (but not Seahorse Grill or Veranda Bar), BLÛ at Belmont Hills, The VENETIAN luxury charter yacht, LV's PIANO & JAZZ LOUNGE ....and I think they also operate the food & snack concessions on public ferries (though that's only a bit less of a 'recommendation' than the airport). They're the restaurant/catering 'giant' on Bermuda. The Little Venice Group probably spends more on butter, than most of their restaurant competitiors spend on their entire food budgets.

Well, I would vote for Lemon Tree Cafe.

The sandwiches were very interesting and tastey.

They also have some hot items at lunch.

We ate outside on the picnic tables in the park,

which is a stones throw away. We always include a visit to the park, and eat at Lemon Tree. We pause for a few photo ops, including one of Bermuda's

Moongates.
