Travelling with a one year old

We're looking to travel to Bermuda next August with a one year old and would like a child friendly hotel either on and very near to the beach. I like the look of the Newstead but the beach is a bus ride away. Would this be a major problem or will the proximity to Hamilton counteract this?

Can anyone suggest anywhere that would be suitable?

Almost any hotel or guest accommodation in Bermuda will be "..family friendly.." to WELL PARENTED children.

One of the suites at the Newstead, with kitchen facilities would probably serve your purpose well...and allow you flexibility in dealing with the care and feeding of a young child. The property offers its own limited-service private ferry service and there is also the HODSON'S FERRY public ferry stop located immediately adjacent to the property for more regular, PINK--Hamilton-Paget-Warwick public ferry service across the harbour (10-20 very pleasant minutes) to downtown Hamilton...the nexus for Bermuda's excellent public transportation system--buses and ferries--to just about anywhere else in Bermuda that you might want to go.

As noted in an earlier post, The Newstaead Hotel recently entered into a agreement with the COCO REEF RESORT (situated on the east end...probably the prettiest end...of the famous Elbow Beach, for reciprocal beach (Elbow Beach) / golf course (Belmont Hills) useage. I'm not familiar with the details of the arrangement...but I suspect that The Newstaed will probably institute some sort of private shuttle service between their Hamilton harbourfront hotel and the Coco Reef Resort beach. Any such shuttle ride between the two properties wouldn't take more than ten(10) minutes.

Coco Reef Resort--

Another possibilty to consider would be the FAIRMONT SOUTHAMPTON HOTEL, located out along Bermuda's magnificent south shore. This is a large, full-service resort/hotel with quick trolley-shuttle service between the main hotel atop the hill and the private beachclub below (3-4 minutes)...as well as a limited-schedule, private shuttle-ferry service to its sister-property, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, in downtown Hamilton. The Fairmont Southampton Hotel is also well serviced by two(2)public bus routes--#7 and #8 (approx 35 mins into downtown Hamilton..30 minutes to Dockyard).
