Restaurant in Hamilton

We will be visiting Bermuda in May for our 15 year anniversary staying at Rosedon. Does anyone have a suggestion for a great restaurant in Hamilton?

Thanks

Congrats on #15.. We celebrated our 15th in Bermuda last year and are heading back this year for #16. We made a point of making a reservation at Barracuda right away. That would be our recommendation as well.

First you need to get over the notion that there is any genuinely "..great restaurants.." in Bermuda. Bermuda has better beaches; Paris has better restaurants. Everything's a trade off.

Having said that, there are some '..very good restaurants in Bermuda. Check out any of these (among others and as noted above) in downtown Hamilton--

BARRACUDA GRILL (perhaps the best seafood in Bermuda--

PORT O CALL--

BOLERO BRASSERIE--

For more casual/basic dining--

HOG PENNY PUB--(a minor Bermuda '..institution..'..buy the tee-shirt)--

http://www.hogpennypub.com/index2.html

PORTOFINO--

http://www.portofino.bm/

La TRATTORIA--

http://www.latrattoria.bm/

If you're looking for a restaurant for a special '..event..' (anniversary, birthday, etc.) then you should probably go farther afield--

FOURWAYS INN (probably the best dining room in Bermuda)--

http://www.fourwaysinn.com/

OCEAN ECHO at The Reefs (indoor dining room & outdoor terrace)--

www.thereefs.com/dining/oceanecho.shtml

COCONUTS at The Reefs (covered dining deck above sand & surf)--

http://www.thereefs.com/dining/coconuts.shtml

HENRY VIII RESTAURANT & PUB (pub entertainment after dinner service)--

http://www.henrys.bm/

If you're looking for a quiet relaxed evening, you can stroll down the road (heading toward downtown) from Rosedon to the MILES MARKET and pick up the fixins for a great '..picnic supper..' that you can 'take-out' and bring back to Rosedon for a pinic at the table outside of your room or around the swimming pool in the garden. (Ask up in the Roseden kitchen for real dinner & flatwear). The MILES MARKET is tucked back in, down a side-alley, behind the large WATERFRONT office/condo complex on the harbourfront. MILES has the best (not the cheapest) Prepared Foods & Deli section in Bermuda..with baked goods and a 'killer' Desserts section. They also have a well stocked Wine section, with a decent selection of still wines and champagnes in half-bottles and splits. All of this makes for a great 'picnic supper or lunch by the pool.

ASCOT'S at The Royal Palms Hotel-- http://www.ascots.bm/ -- would certainly rank somewhere amonsts the '..very good..' (1st if listed alphabetically)...and has the additional merit of being located just up Rosemont Avenue (500 yards...the road that runs along the '..side..' of Rosedon) at Richmond Avenue.

Just as a side note---there is a new Italian place that's opened at/next to Fresco, up in Chancery Lane (one of the 'stepped..' pedestrian alleyways between Front & Reid Sts)--

MARIA'S RISTORANTE--

royalgazette.com/article/…Island

We've always liked FRESCO's and this new "..mama's pasta.." menu might be interesting...northern-Italian with Tuscan influences ??

Maria's sounds good, do they have a website or a menu online? I googled it but came up with nothing....
