Somerset to Dockyard

If we bike to Somerset Village from the Lighthouse, what is the best way to continue on to the dockyard? It appears that the rail trail ends and there is only a road to the tip of the island. Any advice/feedback appreciated.

There is no alternative to the road. It's busy as you can imagine as it's the only access to the Dockyard. Be very careful if you decide to do this. It's not all Railway Trail from the Lighthouse to Somerset Village either, you will have to use the road in places. Narrow, busy and winding with some blind corners.

If you travel from Gibb's Hill Lighthouse to Somerset Bridge, the BRT picks up again on the other side of the bridge and travels to Mangrove Bay (approx.) This is the western END of the BERMUDA RAILWAY TRAIL The route from the Mangrove Bay (Somerset Police Station on Mangrove Bay Road at Beacon Hill Road on the map) terinius of the BRT onward to Dockyard is along the main road. You can certainly bicycle along this stretch (approx. 2½ miles) but you will have to be aware and careful sharing the roadway with other, ordinary vehicular traffic.

There are no sidewalks or '..shoulders..' along most of this stretch...but most of the distance are long, straight stretches with relatively good visibility along the roadway ahead.....but the roadway is typically Bermuda '..narrow..' and there are a couple/few 'choke' points along the way.

People ride bicycles and segways on that section of road all the time. Stay to the side as you ordinarily would and you'll be fine, not a big deal at all.
