Traveling to Bermuda soon. Interested in most inexpensive transportation from the airport to South Hampton Fairmont Hotel. Also, what are the best places to rent scooters? How much? Snorkeling?

Regular metered taxis are readily available to arriving passengers at Bermuda's airport. The fare between airport and Fairmont Southampton Hotel should run $40-$45.
There is a shared shuttle service that you may pre-reserve for the airport transfer--

the shared shuttle fare is $15 per person. Depending on the number of people in your party...you can do the math.
We've (as well as numerous family friends and acquaintances) always been very satisfied with the equipment, service and prices of OLEANDER CYCLES-- http://www.oleandercycles.bm/ (Oleander offers a 10% rate discount for pre-reservations made on-line)....but given your choice of hotels, you may be better served by SMATT'S CYCLE LIVERY-- smattscyclelivery.com/…20Southampton.htm --which has a rental shop on the grounds of the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
For the best snorkeling-from-the-beach in Bermuda, all you need to do is make your way down the FSH's front entrance drive on your scooter to the South Road, turn right onto the South Road and ride west (to your right as you face the ocean) on your scooter for 1¼ mile (approx. 3 mins) to the CHURCH BAY parking lot..then down the path/steps to the little beach below and the relatively protected waters of Church Bay. There's a '..crescent..' of rock and broken reef that comes off of the shore to the west and stretches out and around to a rocky promontory. In addition to this 'crescent' there are alos lots of rocks, coral heads and 'boilers' that make a relatively well protected and healthy marine habitat and interesting snorkeling..
Edited: 20 April 2013, 03:58Our shuttle is designed for singles or couples. If you have 3 or more its cheaper to go ahead a s get a taxi from the line outside. Have a great vacation either way.
