Miles Market

How far is it to walk to Miles Market from the ferry dock? Have ready that they have a good selection of microbrews in stock. Any input would be appreciated.

miles is maybe a 5-10 walk west of the ferry terminal. they are located at the bottom the waterfront complex across the street from bacardi international, the building with the fountains in front and next door to a construction site.

be prepared for sticker shock!

MILES MARKET-- http://www.miles.bm/Miles/index.html --will be tucked back in (not just an idle expression) approx. 500 yards west (to your right as you face the harbour) from the main ferry terminal in downtown Hamilton...heading along Front Street-extended/Pitt's Bay Road, toward the Hamilton Princess Hotel. You'll pass the harbourfront BARR'S PARK. MILES MARKET will be tucked in (harbour-side) down the tiny Waterloo Lane (there's a construction site on the corner and Mies van der Rohe's, Bacardi headquarters building will be across the street. There will only be a relatively small sign (also a small sign for '..Harry's at the Waterfront..' steakhouse) on the corner of the 'Waterfront' offic/condo building on the other side of the Waterloo Lane 'alley' to indicate that entrance to MILES MARKETis just down the alley (toward the harbour) and 'round the first turning (toward the parking garage). If you pass the Bacardi building, you've just missed the turn-off for MILES MARKET.

Truth be told, I don't really know how extensive the micro-brew beer selection is in the liquor department of Miles (no packaged liquor sales on Sundays)...but if their wine selection is anything to go by, the beer selection should be pretty good as well.

It's certainly true that MILES MARKET tends to be 'expensive'...but then you probably won't be shopping here for the weekly groceries for the family. If you're looking for the best price for Cheerios, Heinz ketchup or ground chuck, et al.....shop elsewhere.

What MILES offers is...far and away...hands down...the very best Prepared Foods & Deli section...bar none...in Bermuda. They offer perhaps the best selections of desserts, cheeses, baked goods, specialty items and wines in Bermuda as well. '..Quality..' costs and MILES' most certainly provides it. It may be expensive in simple cost...but in relative terms, provides real quality and '..value..' in product.

Scan through the MILES-to-GO sample menus for some idea of the treats they have in store.
