Yes.. and no. there is no sewage coming out of manholes into the street.. been dry for a while (Please don't assume the water you saw around lanterns mall yesterday was sewage..it was rain.. I was there..and it rained pretty heavily last night as well..)..

Worthing Beach is still closed and the government is still working on the problem..

Yes, it is confusing. Our friends who live on the coral mist side of worthing beach have not formally heard that the health authorities have given the clearance but they have said the sluice gates are still being opened. While the sea is clearing and looking better today was not the best apparently. The sandy beach/carib end is closed for sure according to a friend who was at crystal waters yesterday. Perhaps Sunnie will get a more formal update.

what I would say is this.. it's currently overcast and rainy.. (which really isn't a bad thing) . but it also causes the water to stir up..all over. .not just there..so.. Clear water might not be found all over the island, not just there.. Thus why it likely didn't look great yesterday.. (or today for that matter)...

will search for the info and see what I find...

twofamily - what area and what has happened? I ask as you are on the ground and I read a headline from the weekend nation that seemed to indicate the south coast problems were back. Can you shed any light? I suspect the heavy rains are playing havoc.

I was by Lanterns Mall today and it was fine there - that was one of the problem areas in the past. Perhaps it was the Worthing area? I haven't passed there in the last week.

I'm travelling to Barbados this week and staying in Hastings - are all the beaches in that area closed? Any beach recommendations on the west coast that are still open?

Thanks so much!

https://barbadostoday.bb/2018/10/27/sewage-snag/ - It is still only Worthing beach that remains closed.

southwest beaches at Carlisle Bay are fine ... all the west coast beaches are fine -( an NO seaweed issues either again) if you want the nicest beach on the west coast w recommend Alleynes by Fairmont Royal Pavilion
