Whilst in Barbados you can walk to the Bridgetown synagogue which is the oldest in the Western hemipshere. A short taxi ride out of Bridgetown (only about 10 minutes from the port) will take you to Carlisle Bay where you can snorkel over a sunken ship where some pretty good reef has formed. Just beyond that at the Garrison is the George Washington House, where he stayed for a time. It's quite interesting to see , as it offers some good insight into life in Barbados in that era and also the workings of these old plantation homes.
As for bargains, I'd say try St. Thomas as the shopping here is limited and expensive.
Thanks InBarbados, that sounds great. This will be our first port. Very much looking forward to it!
In reading other posts, I gathered that shopping is good in St Thomas
In Tortola I would choose Cane garden Bay or if you want less people maybe Brewers Bay Beach by taxi..
If you like snorkelling you should go to Koki beach in St Thomas where the fish are amazing.Go shopping afterwards.
Antigua I would tour Nelsons dockyard/Shirley Heights and have the taxi driver drop you at Darkwood beach for a couple of hours.
So many nice places so many options..
I forgot to mention the Mount Gay rum factory which is also within walking distance of the cruise ship terminal. It's a very informative and historically interesting little tour.
